Ellington Financial’s proposed notes offering grew from $100 million to $150 million, according to final pricing terms announced on September 14, 2026.
The additional 7.375% senior unsecured notes due 2030 were priced at 99.010% of principal, producing a 7.663% yield to maturity. They join $400 million of the same series issued in October 2025 and carry Ellington Financial’s full and unconditional guarantee.
The company said closing was expected on September 17, subject to customary conditions. That expected date should not be read as confirmation that settlement has occurred.
Why it matters
The larger offering gives EFC more funding capacity and establishes its cost. Management intends to use proceeds partly to repay repurchase-agreement borrowings and partly to acquire assets.
Replacing some secured borrowing with longer-dated unsecured debt can diversify funding and reduce dependence on short-term lenders. The trade-off is a fixed financing expense that the company’s assets must earn enough to support.
These final terms materially update the earlier proposed offering. The next checkpoints are confirmed closing, how the proceeds are deployed, and the effect on the earnings measure that supports EFC’s dividend.
