Your route through Fly High Investing

01 / Find your bearings Public

Start with the question you want to answer.

You do not need to work through every page in order. Choose a starting point, then follow the connections.

“I’m learning about income investing.”

Start with Getting Started and Our Process. Use the dictionary whenever an unfamiliar term interrupts your reading.

Get your bearings

“I want to research a company.”

Search by name or ticker, open its profile and check the reporting period before comparing figures.

Explore dividend stocks

“I want to follow the model.”

Pro connects the Fly High 50 to its Weekend Updates and performance, earnings and dividend histories.

02 / Discover Public + Free

A company library beyond the model portfolio.

Explore Dividend Stocks brings the research library together. Find a company by name or ticker and open its individual profile.

A company’s presence in the library does not mean it belongs to the Fly High 50. The model portfolio is a separate Pro feature.

Public visitors can read introductions. Free membership opens current core facts, including company-specific reported earnings, the latest declared dividend, payment frequency and source information.

What is the Fly High 50 - Model Portfolio about?

The Fly High 50 - Model Portfolio shows how we put our income-investing approach into practice: seek high-yield dividends supported by company earnings, then use that income or reinvest it to compound over time. We follow changes in earning power and dividend coverage across the portfolio. Members use the model as a research guide and remain in control of their own investments.

1 Introduction Public

Get oriented: what the company does, how its business earns income and where to look next. Begin here before interpreting a high yield.

2 Core Data Free and above

Read the latest reported company-specific earnings, declared dividend and payment frequency. Check the period and source date. These reported facts are distinct from the four-quarter earnings estimate used in Fly High’s dividend-coverage analysis.

3 Charts & Analysis Plus and Pro

Look beyond a single observation. Explore the available company history and deeper details, then follow the underlying reports and news. Available measures differ by company type and source coverage.

4 Reports and context Plus and Pro

Use Annual & Quarterly Reports and company news to investigate changes in earning power. Fly High uses the earnings measure the company identifies as the source of its dividend. Measures such as NII and AFFO are not interchangeable.

Earnings Fixes Everything

Earnings are the economic source of dividends and Fly High’s primary monitoring signal. Start with the company’s dividend-source earnings, check the reporting periods, then examine how estimated earnings support the included dividends.

How does Fly High estimate dividend support?

We combine the two most recently reported quarters of actual company-specific earnings with the next two quarters of comparable, independent analyst consensus estimates. Dividend Coverage Ratio is that four-quarter earnings estimate divided by annualized included dividends, using consistent per-share units.

Included dividends are regular dividends plus supplementals paid regularly; irregular special dividends are excluded. We refresh the estimate after each earnings release and the ratio when included dividends change. Coverage measures estimated support, not a guarantee.

  1. Save a companyUse the small “In my portfolio” checkbox where available.
  2. Manage your portfoliosName up to three portfolios, add or remove companies and edit quantities.
  3. Choose what to loadSelect a portfolio or holding when a tool offers that option.
  4. Explore a scenarioAdjust the assumptions and compare the results.
Does a calculator change my holdings?

Using a scenario tool does not place a brokerage trade. My Portfolio is your saved research workspace. Flight Checks do not automatically load it; choose a portfolio explicitly when that option is offered.

Keep the companies you want to revisit.

My Portfolio gives your saved selections a home. Its visibility follows the site’s current membership settings, so the checkbox and portfolio links appear only when your account is eligible.

What should I pay attention to?

Notice the assumptions behind each result. Where a tool supports them, try lower income, a larger cash need or a different allocation. These planning scenarios complement company research; they do not replace Fly High’s earnings-based dividend-coverage analysis or predict future results.
