BXSL (Blackstone Secured Lending Fund) Cuts First-Quarter 2027 Dividend to $0.60

Blackstone Secured Lending Fund has declared a $0.60 per-share dividend for the first quarter of 2027, down from the $0.77 payment retained for the fourth quarter of 2026. The November 4, 2026 earnings presentation confirms both declarations in its dividend-history footnote.

That is a meaningful change from the unchanged near-term payment discussed in our earlier earnings coverage. The new quarterly amount is about 22% lower, reducing the income shareholders would receive from the same number of shares.

The fourth-quarter dividend applies to shareholders of record on December 31, 2026 and is payable on or about January 22, 2027. The first-quarter declaration has a March 31, 2027 record date. The lower amount therefore does not replace the already declared $0.77 fourth-quarter payment.

For dividend support, the reset brings the payment below the latest quarterly net investment income of $0.68 per share. That measure reflects investment income after expenses, and it has declined from $0.75 in the preceding quarter and $0.82 a year earlier. Comparing the latest result with the new $0.60 amount shows an eight-cent cushion, although future earnings still have to deliver it.

BXSL primarily lends to private businesses, so the interest collected from borrowers, the cost of funding those loans and any credit losses shape what remains for shareholders. Lowering the dividend does not repair a borrower or increase lending income, but it reduces the amount earnings must support each quarter.

Our view is that the reset makes the dividend easier to support at the latest earnings level, while confirming that the previous payment was too demanding for current earning power. The useful next test is whether net investment income stabilizes above the new payment as borrower quality and financing costs develop. A smaller dividend can be a more sustainable one, but the earnings trend still deserves attention.
