Oil and Treasury Yields Ease
Oil and Treasury yields eased during Monday’s U.S. trading session, extending the relief visible at the open. By early afternoon Eastern time, Brent crude was near $100 a barrel, down about 3% on the day, while the 10-year Treasury yield had moved below Friday’s 5% close. Oil nevertheless remained well above its early-summer level, so this is relief from pressure, not a reversal of the energy shock.
For the Fly High universe, lower fuel costs could help borrowers’ cash flow, while lower long yields could modestly reduce refinancing and valuation pressure. Those are possible transmission channels, not evidence that dividend capacity has already improved. Earnings from the measure each company uses to support its dividend remain the primary signal. Watch whether oil and funding conditions stabilize, and whether subsequent company results confirm stronger earning power.
