Texas Factory Output Accelerates as Costs Rise

Texas factory activity accelerated sharply in September, a distinct post-open development from this morning’s oil-focused brief. The Dallas Fed’s production index jumped 13.4 points to 29.5. New orders rose to 30.7 from 22.0, while employment climbed to 15.1 from 8.0. Price pressure also broadened: the raw-material index reached 52.2, and finished-goods prices rose to 27.6.

This regional evidence is not a national forecast, but firmer industrial demand and employment may support borrower earnings across the Fly High universe. The offset is that higher input costs can squeeze margins and keep interest rates and refinancing costs elevated. Earnings remain the primary signal; quoted-price reactions alone do not show changed dividend capacity.

Watch the next national manufacturing reading for confirmation beyond Texas.
