IAE and IHD Trading to End Before Voya Fund Mergers
View the IAE Dividend Stock Profile
Voya Investment Management said on October 2, 2026, that shareholders of Voya Asia Pacific High Dividend Equity Income Fund (IAE) and Voya Emerging Markets High Dividend Equity Fund (IHD) approved the reorganization of each closed-end fund into Voya Multi-Manager Emerging Markets Equity Fund.
Subject to the remaining closing conditions, both reorganizations are expected to finish after business closes on October 16. The transactions are independent, so one can close even if the other does not.
NYSE trading in IAE and IHD shares is scheduled to stop after the market closes on October 13. At closing, each shareholder is expected to receive Class W shares of the surviving open-end fund with an aggregate net asset value equal to the aggregate net asset value of the target-fund shares held at the closing calculation time. Voya said final exchange ratios will follow after completion.
Why it matters
The approval establishes a defined end to exchange trading for both closed-end funds. Shareholders who continue through closing will move from exchange-traded IAE or IHD shares into an open-end mutual-fund share class. That changes the structure through which they hold the investment and ends the closed-end shares’ market-price discount or premium mechanism after conversion.
The principal uncertainty is execution. Both reorganizations still depend on closing conditions, and the final exchange ratios are not yet available. Investors should also watch for final transaction, distribution and tax documents from Voya.
