Company overview

XAI Madison Equity Premium Income Fund owns mainly large and mid-sized stocks and writes covered call options around them. Company dividends, option outcomes and share prices all contribute to what shareholders receive. On December 2, 2024, XAI became the adviser and the fund took its current name; Madison continued as sub-adviser. The fund then moved its fiscal year-end from December to September. Its January through September 2025 report covers nine months, and the October 2025 through March 2026 report covers six. Read each on its actual dates rather than as equal annual results.

Stock dividends after expenses appear in net investment income. Option and share-price results are separate parts of the investment outcome and can support a managed cash payment.

Why the annual trend is limited

MCN changed its adviser and name on December 2, 2024, while Madison continued as sub-adviser. The SEC report does not establish that the covered-call approach ended then. The fund changed its fiscal year-end to September in 2025, leaving a nine-month January through September 2025 bridge and a six-month October 2025 through March 2026 report. These are not equal annual points. A proposed preferred-equity sleeve disclosed in May 2026 required shareholder approval; this filing does not establish that it began.
