Four Redwood Trust insiders reported purchases totaling 239,276.13 RWT common shares on September 15 and September 16, 2026.
CEO Christopher Abate acquired 100,000 shares at $3.839 each through a trust, a purchase of $383,900. CFO Brooke Carillo acquired 26,065 shares at $3.8457 each, or about $100,238. Director Greg Kubicek acquired 50,000 shares at $3.8512 each, or $192,560. President Dashiell Robinson then acquired 63,211.13 shares at $3.98 each, or about $251,580. Together, the four purchases totaled about $928,278.
The filings show that Abate held 679,283 common shares through the trust after his purchase, Carillo held 140,481 shares directly, Kubicek reported 127,184.66 shares directly plus smaller indirect positions, and Robinson held 395,050.13 shares directly after his transaction.
Why it matters
Purchases by four senior insiders over two days increase their financial exposure to Redwood. That alignment is a useful governance and valuation signal, but it is not evidence by itself that earnings or the dividend will improve.
The timing also follows Redwood’s September 11 announcement of the pricing of $185 million of 7.00% convertible senior notes due 2030. The insider purchases do not change the note terms, potential dilution, earnings power or dividend capacity. Those fundamentals remain the more important questions for shareholders.
What to watch next is whether Redwood’s financing actions support its company-identified earnings measure and whether reported earning power continues to support the common dividend.
